Material Selection: The primary steels used for the mold must possess high thermal conductivity (to facilitate cooling), high strength, high wear resistance, and corrosion resistance. Commonly used materials include pre-hardened steels such as P20 and 2738 for cavity and core plates, while critical components-such as cores and threaded neck rings-utilize high-grade stainless steels (e.g., S136, Stavax) or H13 hot-work tool steel.


Precision Machining: Strict requirements apply to mold parallelism and perpendicularity to ensure consistency across multiple cavities. Machining the cavities and cores requires high-precision CNC, slow-feeding wire-cut EDM, and mirror-finish EDM. Components such as center pins must achieve a mirror-polish finish (Grade #A1 or higher).
